Honest review of a fashion trade fair ! The global sourcing expo 2025 | A day in the life vlog !

I went to my first ever textiles trade fair this week, and it did not disappoint! I wanted to give you an honest review of what it's all about. On Thursday, I went to the Global Sourcing Expo Sydney at the International Convention Centre (ICC) (such a global capability center - there were so many other things on in the building). I've heard a few different people reference trade fairs / trade shows , and I was so curious to see what they actually are! There were exhibitors, which included so many suppliers and manufacturers of apparel and fabrics: basically the brand factory for so many of the clothes that you find in-store and online. They all had their own stalls. I learnt everything about what a fashion trade fair is all about, including the types of fabric for clothing that different manufacturers were making. There were label manufacturers there as well, centring around the clothing brand design and their capability. Some of the attendees there had small businesses, others were looking at how to start a small business / how to make a small business and the development of products and custom clothing. I think a textiles trade fair would be really useful for anyone looking at starting a clothing brand or at clothing brand design . I went to a couple of seminars / talks as well. One was around the importance of sustainable development in packaging (that was with Anaita Sarkar, the founder of Hero Packaging - she's also an author), and the other was along similar lines, but in luxury packaging (that was with Robert Lockyer, the founder of Delta Global in the UK). I actually saw that Prince William and Cate Blanchett were just in a textiles lab, looking at why sustainability is important and to learn about sustainable fashion (too bad it wasn't prince william and kate middleton as well), but I do love Cate Blanchett!
