Three days before my runway show at New York Fashion Week, my living room became the studio, a zipper broke on the most important look, my glue gun died mid-build, and I missed two flights the day before the show. This is the real behind the scenes of putting on a New York Fashion Week collection as an independent designer. Not the highlight reel — the 2 AM sewing, the upcycling, the volunteer calls, the rehearsal, and the moment the first model walked.
