I Tried 3D Printing Sunglasses So You Don't Have To

Sunglasses are overpriced - and they never last. So can I 3D print my own? Brought to you by HOZO. Check out their full lineup (and their current sale) here: https://jle.vi/hozo The plan sounded simple enough: invest in a set of good lenses, then 3D print rugged, easily replaceable frames for about a dollar worth of plastic. The catch? They still had to be something I’d actually want to wear, durable enough to survive my bag and a hot car, reasonably quick to make, and above all, skin safe. Any 3D printing technology, from resin 3d printing, to FDM, was fair game. I had NO idea what I was in for. I spent literal weeks making various forms of 3D Printed glasses. I tried the latest in Resin 3D Printing, with the Formlabs Form Studio 1. I tried HeyGears engineering resin. I even tried cutting edge FDM 3D Printers like the SnapMaker U1, with various different filaments. Then, I rated each pair of 3D printed glasses against a 5-point criteria, to see if they pass or fail. Will I succeed? You'll have to watch to find out. What I CAN guarantee, though, is that you'll learn a LOT about 3D printing in this video - because I sure did. And some of those lessons REALLY surprised me.
