Celebrated as the first Black photographer to shoot the cover of Vogue magazine featuring Beyoncé, Mitchell shares his philosophy on how clothes shape identity and images shape culture. As he shows us around his studio, he traces his creative journey, from making skateboarding videos when he was a kid in Atlanta to fashion and editorial photography to experimenting with printing on fabric and mirror. “The advantage photography has versus other mediums is its breadth of application. Images in general are things that transcend language.
